He is being active on both Israeli and International scene. Alec has had performed and recorded with such great jazz artists as Donald Harrison, Arnie Lawrence, Slide Hampton, Chuck Israels and Kevin Mahogany and many others. He has produced numerous projects and recordings for vocalist and composer Simona Arones, featuring Billy Hart (Tel Aviv 2001), Harry Whitaker Jr. (New York 2004) and performed as soloist with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Besides participating in a various musical projects Alec has been leading his own trio for more than a decade. Alec Katz is a dedicated jazz educator teaching for more than 20 years. He is a jazz piano, harmony, improvisation and ensembles instructor at The Center For Jazz Studies, The Israeli Conservatory and at Rimon School of Music.
