Music is a joy used to elevate our community; we can promote a stronger society through volunteer work, music education programs, and special initiatives with the power of music. Rimon was founded on the same exact values it thrives on today; a community founded to work together for the well being of all members. Our top priority is to create an efficient and engaged community that can flourish through music. Community outreach is a main focus of our curriculum for both students and faculty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tied to our mission of student development and success, Rimon committed from day one to be an active contributor in the communities throughout Israel and the periphery.\u00a0 Rimon continuously develops its collaborative partnerships to build programs for community benefit. Rimon was recognized with a Prime Minister\u2019s Award for developing a music program for students on the Autism Spectrum, and offers various music education programs for youth at risk, elderly, and more.\u00a0 A few examples include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An open-format songwriting workshop for students and alumni affected by the Iron Swords War<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Achim l\u2019Chaim (Brothers for Life) Songwriting program for post-combat soldiers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rimon Student Music Counselors (supervised) providing music enrichment, leading ensembles, teaching music appreciation, etc. throughout the country in the MAMTAK scholarship program.\u00a0 This program serves diverse primary and secondary schools for Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Druze, and Bedouin students who would otherwise be unable to offer musical education, including communities in the periphery.\u00a0 We also provide musical experiences at Elder Care day programs (\u201cmoadon\u201d) and residential facilities, Youth-at-Risk programs, classes for people on the Autism spectrum, performances in various group home\/assisted living facilities (including a musical ensemble in a group home\u00a0 for adults with intellectual disabilities), two hospital\/treatment center programs for people with various mental health challenges, and more.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><b>SERVING THOSE WHO SERVE ISRAEL<\/b><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many Rimon students were called up as <\/span><b>Miluim<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 army reservists who are placed in active duty.\u00a0 Rimon supports our in-service students by offering remote workshops and a special modified academic schedule that works around them.\u00a0 We successfully concluded the first semester built in this model. We continue to support and assist everyone at Rimon with special consideration for those who are directly affected by the war.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One group\u2019s music theory was taught by <\/span><b>Tamar Shreck<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, whose students gave her a thank you gift accompanied by a card that expressed their appreciation for her patience, how she listened to them, and provided words of wisdom and support\u00a0 They went on to say, \u201cYour intelligence and your caring were with us through this process and inspired us every week. \u00a0 This experience was irreplaceable.\u00a0 We\u2019d like to present you with this \u201croyal\u201d treat.\u00a0 We appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts.\u201d\u00a0 Faculty members <\/span><b>Maya Davidoff<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Yiftach Boaz<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> received a message from another reservist: \u201cThe semester for miluim finished yesterday and I had a wonderful experience.\u00a0 I learned a lot and enjoyed myself.\u00a0 I want to thank you both for all of your effort and investment.\u00a0 I am sure it was challenging but it was really worth it\u2026\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><b>HEALING THROUGH SONG<\/b><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rimon\u2019s commitment to strengthening the community can be felt through its ongoing initiatives. In addition to the many music enrichment programs we deliver in various academic, medical\/disability services, eldercare, and therapeutic environments, we also mobilize around current events.\u00a0 This Fall, we created a songwriting workshop for <\/span><b>survivors of the Nova Festival<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> massacre. Through music and song, they could pour out their feelings and begin to heal.\u00a0 The months-long program concluded with a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLI293whsAJem0NoiJH5r3RFGwlhNlLGSF\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">culminating concert (listen here in Hebrew)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 <\/span><b>Presidential First Lady Michal Herzog <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">attended and delivered a moving speech. She also spent private time with the Nova participants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><b>RIMON\u2019S THRIVING NORTH CAMPUS IN HISTORIC AKKO (ACRE)<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stemming from the success of our central campus in Ramat HaSharon, Rimon partnered with the Municipality of Akko (Acre) to develop a branch that will serve the diverse and talented students of the Northern region of Israel.\u00a0 Akko is a center of arts in Israel, so a music school is a natural addition to the cultural landscape of the city. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This satellite Rimon branch, which opened in 2022, attracts students from across the region to its academic and community programs.\u00a0 Rimon North is supported in part by the <\/span><b>Jewish National Fund (JNF)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who generously furnished the musical instruments for this campus.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"x_comp-m8d8fogw\" class=\"x_elementToProof\">\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\" dir=\"ltr\"><b data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">RIMON SOUTH: A BEACON IN THE REMERGING CITY OF SDEROT<\/b><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">On March 5, 2025, the ribbon cutting for Rimon South took place!\u00a0 Rimon is excited to partner with Sderot\u2019s Mayor\u00a0<b>Alon Davidi<\/b>, modeled after\u00a0Rimon North\u00a0and mirroring Rimon\u2019s three-year program.\u00a0 Sderot was ravaged by the war and as displaced residents slowly begin to return, the city is devising many progressive programs. Rimon\u2019s mission and decades-long dedication to imparting music as a healing agent dovetails beautifully with the City\u2019s rebuild and restore plan.\u00a0 Sderot is a notable stronghold for music, and symbolizes a spirit of renewal, struggle, and strength. Rimon has wanted to have a presence in Sderot for many years, as many notable musicians and singers call it home (including\u00a0<b>Chaim Oliel, Kobi Oz\u00a0and\u00a0Hagit Yaso<\/b>). Rimon South students will hone their craft in Rimon\u2019s creative, professional, supportive environment.
